What is Bead Mosaic?

According to Britannica, mosaic, in art, is decoration of a surface with designs made up of closely set, usually variously coloured, small pieces of material such as stone, mineral, glass, tile, or shell. Sabrina Frey began calling her mosiacs Glass Bead Mosaic as a type of mosaic that is created using predominantly glass jewelry beads that are held together with glue and made without grout. This type of mosaic can be created using almost any type of glass bead such as seed beads, bugle beads, lamp beads, and any type of bead normally used to create jewelry.  It is a type of jewelry for your walls or shelf rather than your body.  Here you will find the tools and knowledge needed to create your own bead mosaic art.  Due to the variety of beads available in the marketplace the possibilities are endless.  Click below to see some examples of well known bead mosaic artists and what can happen when you let your creativity flow.

Who is Sabrina Frey?

Sabrina Frey is a professional award-winning fine artist dedicated to expanding the artistic possibilities of her chosen medium, Glass Beads.  Thinking beyond traditional beading methods of the past she has developed many innovative techniques for highlighting the beads personality and texture.
